The Committee of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the US Senate conducted a hearing on June 18, 2024 titled “Origins of COVID-19: An Examination of Available Evidence”. After examining the reports from the US intelligence agencies, the evidence gathered through FOIA and other documents and expert testimony, the Committee concluded that SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent of the COVID-19 pandemic, was likely the outcome of gain-of-function (or virulence-enhancing) research funded by NIH, proposed to funding agencies of the US Department of Defense, and effectively conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). This research to create enhanced virus chimeras to infect humans was subcontracted  to the WIV by Peter Daszak,  president of EcoHealth Alliance, an NIH contractor-awardee . The Committee findings are in consonance with the opinion of MIT and Harvard researcher Dr. Alina Chan published in the New York Times on June 3, 2024, an opinion that echoes scientific findings dating back to early 2021.

As usual, the tale-telling evidence sprouts from the cover-up, rather than the crime itself. As things went topsy-turvy for Daszak at the Wuhan lab in late 2019, and the pandemic acquired catastrophic proportions, Daszak and Anthony Fauci, his boss at NIH, embarked in a massive cover-up. Daszak and Fauci hastily herded NIH-funded scientists to claim a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2, while conducting a ferocious draconian censorship of any dissenting voice. This transpired from the pronouncements of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, that recommended Daszak’s criminal prosecution and formal debarment  and became apparent at the hearing conducted by the Committee of Homeland Security. At the hearing, Senator Josh Hawley stated that “Every dissenting voice raised against the [COVID-19] natural origin was suppressed as per Fauci’s intructions” (1:32-1:36). “The fraudulent Nature Medicine paper [on the natural origin of COVID-19] was used by Fauci to mobilize government to censor people”. “People lost their job because of this, they were discredited” (1:37). At the same venue, Senator Rand Paul said: “[Francis] Collins [NIH’s former president] and Fauci ordered everybody who disagreed with the natural origin of COVID-19 should be taken down” (1:54).

The legislative body and the US intelligence agencies concur in opining that Daszak and Fauci are persons of primary interest in the investigation of the origin of COVID-19 and surely the architects of the massive cover-up. The public has yet to see that criminal prosecution is pursued and carried through to its ultimate consequences.
